As you can see the definitions aren't as clear as they maybe could be. Bisexual is usually associated with attraction towards male and female people but it doesn't always refer to just two genders (yes, I know what the prefix "bi-" means - but language is a weird thing and meanings can change over time). Attraction to ALL genders is technically called "omnisexual", but some people also use pansexual for that or use the terms interchangably. Most pansexual people I know define the difference between the two through the term "genderblind" though. Meaning: Pansexuals aren't attracted to any gender at all, they simply don't care about gender and are attracted to personality instead.

Bi people are attracted to male and female, while pan people are gender blind and attracted to every gender.

Bi people can be attracted to more than just male and female, I think... I think what makes you bi instead of pan is having a preference.

Bisexual, in the most inclusive definition, means to be attracted to 2 OR MORE genders. Pansexual doesn't have to do with the number of genders, being pansexual means to be attracted to someone with out being concerned about gender, therefore Pan doesn't technically mean attracted to all genders, but that is how many might use it. I see in another comment someone mentioned omnisexual, but I just wanted to clear one part up because I used to identify as omnisexual before I figured out something that fit me better. Omnisexual is SIMILAR to pansexual, but not exactly the same. Omnisexual means you DO recognize gender but you're attracted to all of them regardless, whereas pansexual is considered "genderblind" as previous commenters mentioned. Hope that made sense?

Isn't polysexual more than two, but not all, genders?

Yes! It does. For a short while I thought I was polysexual, actually. Quick question though: I didn't mention polysexuality in my comment, so just curious as to what caused you to bring it up?

I was pretty sure bisexual was being attracted to any two genders, and poly was 3 or more genders.
I have been verbally assaulted by someone who says bisexual is two or more genders, I'm not naming them because that's not nice, and I just wanted to know if they were correct.

Yeah, so bisexual is being attracted to two or more genders. The prefix bi- is a little misleading in this sense. Polysexual is just more than 2 but not necessarily all genders. Pansexual means it doesn't matter t you the umber of genders, because it's not their gender you're attracted to. So basically, for pansexual people, gender doesn't matter.

And I'm sorry to hear someone was verbally violent to you. That's not acceptable of them, even if upset, and I appreciate you not naming them.

Also being Bi doesn't necessarily mean being 50/50 attracted to men and women. Also, being Bi can include non-binary people, it just depends on each Bi individual. Being Bi can honestly be a 99/1 preference split and still be Bi. You could be like 87% attracted to men and only 13% attracted to women and it still counts. And it's always ok (and quite common) to use one label and later realize one actually better fits how you feel. This does not mean the person was faking it before. So maybe someone used to think they were pan, but maybe later they realize they're actually Bi. Or the other way around, or any other combination of identification.
