Haha, my son loved that movie.

August 1, 1981. The first video that they played, and I was watching. Still very young, but very aware that music as we knew it was in a transformative state. Metal, Alt...I was obsessed. So much so, that MTV was strictly forbidden by my father. My mom didn’t have a problem with it, so, when we heard the garage door open, we’d dive bomb to switch the channel. Still watched on the sneak 4 years later when the A-ha video was released.

I was there! Computer animation was just starting out, Michael Jackson was at the top of his game, heavy metal was entering the mainstream, and everybody was going big hair and glam! I find it funny now that even the older metal bands went glam! 😆. Yeah, man, Peter Gabriel, Thomas Dolby, Flock of Seagulls, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Van Halen...It was an amazing time for music, and MTV bought it to us in full color! Even brought us the start of new wave, hip hop and grunge. It was good when it was good! 😎👍
