So true, he stayed on to run as senator in 2008 to try and win just so he could be sworn in in 2009 before the Inauguration for VP and claim a record for time served as a senator. All within time to resign the seat on like 15 th January so he could accept VP position.
He's everything they bitch about with Trump with barely a small fraction of the class, showmanship or real action. He pales in comparison when it come to things to actually pose about because little of what they give him credit for has had positive impact on anyones life except his own.
