Ye, it's hard to make art for everything, just look at the ones that seem it has an concept like for example my Oc Neo is an virus like being, that like stuffed animals and sweets, you can try to add those.

My problem is that I have stories for my favourite ocs, and all the "important" main ocs have no character design lol

You can try adding personality to them like manipulative, kind, soft, evil. Then it could also be easier to make pairs. Then add things that add there personality, stuffed animals, hair clips, headphones, and scars on the face. You can look up Some good designs that your looking for here and there round everywhere

My fav OC is an evil prince, has a scar on his right eye, black and purple fur etc.
