To be completely honest, I would have been more impressed if she'd said "Rey Palpatine." Sure, he was evil, but it would mean that she's no longer scared of who she is, and is going to improve the name instead of run from it. Instead she takes a name that's not hers, and that she frankly doesn't have much of a right to.
