By subtracting where she is from where she isn't, or where she isn't from where she is (whichever is greater), they obtains a difference, or deviation. The simp guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the simps from a position where it is to a position closer to mookie, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is.
