Allow me to explain my meme, please. I learned on Newsmax that a group of US Representatives are about to quietly pass a bill to create mandatory payroll deductions for all employees for the purpose of funding universal involuntary 401k accounts.
I don’t like the idea, and I believe Congress will plunder the ‘money pool’ it will create just as they have SS funds.
And you’re right, we can’t afford it.
BUT, the rank and file population will just see another ‘free’ check coming, and think it’s the greatest thing since stimulus checks...

That's not good...I'm already writing off Social Security tax money, I don't think it'll be around by the time I retire...I'd rather have a private 401k than some government pool of money that they'll just tax and skim whenever they need cash. Ugh.
