my grandpa on my dad's side was going to serve and fight in the military but one time was asked to throw a bomb and was bad at throwing stuff and nearly blew up another soldier when he did so he ended up being a typist for the military and decoding secret messages and typing stuff for them. also, my grandpa on my moms side was a firefighter at a military base in vietnam during the war so he served to. do either of those count? idk
