Many years ago I did a basic course in Russian but after all this time all I can remember is the Cyrillic alphabet - useful when using a downloaded keyboard to type in Russian captions from pages on Pinterest.
At the beginning of Covid I decided to learn basic Japanese - It didn't go well ... and that's why I now use Google Translate
