I don't know. All humanity could eat any fruit in the Garden of Eden but for the apple. Technically it was the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They could've eaten other nice fruits instead like chocolate pudding persimmons and raspberries

But I don't know why God would allow sin to continue 6000 years or more. He could've said to Noah: 'You and your family might've found favour with me, but due to what Adam and Eve did I have to destroy the whole human race including you. Do not worry - today you'll be with me in Paradise.'
