Yes, it’s POSSIBLE, and, in fact, has happened on a number of occasions.
Quoted from my more detailed answer (below): “..between 1940 and 2008 there were 157 people who “fell out” of airplanes without parachutes and survived. Forty-two of them fell from altitudes greater than 10,000 feet.” But the thing to keep in mind is that their survival was due solely to LUCK. In addition, almost all of them suffered severe injuries.
But frankly, there is NOTHING you can do to help. It really comes down to luck and only luck. (Any parachutists reading this might want to read my other answer — below — where I tell of watching a student parachutist on his first jump.)
Some of the other answers make recommendations. Yes, go for whichever toots your horn, but they won’t do you any good. It’s all about luck.
Here’s the perspective. Stand beside a road where the vehicles are doing 60 MPH, now imagine them going twice as fast — 120 mph — and imagine your chance of surviving if you stepped in front of one. Same thing when you’re falling at terminal velocity. In my answer below I talk about a student that hammered in on his first parachute jump. I landed beside him and there is NO question in my mind that luck is the ONLY thing that might save a skydiver with a double failure.
