I'm not sure if you saw the bodycam footage but the cops at every turn had tried. Deescalation takes both parties. Floyd's 2 friends had no issues with the cops because for the most part they listened. Floyd did not cooperate. The reason he was on the ground was because even after they managed to wrestle him into the police car after much resistance, he kicked himself out of the other door and said he wanted to lie on the ground. It was HIS unwillingness to deescalate
