Well, I guess because it's fan art people can't make a big deal about it, but in Doctor Who the bond between David Tennant's "doctor" and Rose is built up by his loving character and charming manner and the adventures they went on. River Song or Melody Pond is Matt's "lover", not David's.

I don’t think so. River was annoying. The Doctor can love Rose through more than one regeneration. He doesn’t need to speak of her for her to not be locked in his hearts. And no matter what face he wears, it’ll always be her.
