*I start running to the poke mart with Oshawott on my shoulder*

Because I thought the porygon you can get in game was shinylocked.

You can transfer in porygons from previous games.
Plus it could be a shiny hatched from a non shiny hidden ability porygon

I didn’t know Porygon can breed.

So it’s a special Meltan since uh... you can’t actually evolve one in the games.

I got you a shiny porygon2...that was holding a dubious disc so it evolved..

Don’t worry I accept shinies.

But you could have gotten a shiny porygon2 for the dex as well-
