David Lee Roth is not only from Indiana, he is Jewish. DLR makes California Girls in 1985, and it goes to #3 on Billboard Top 100 charts as his 1st solo record. No one ever called him a racist for making this video with a confederate flag. Although you could argue he had very poor taste in clothing. No one watched this video back then thinking racist.
