I'ma still tell you the backstory of them
During the medieval times a plague called the bubonic plague spread far and wide. Since there were so many dead bodies piling everywhere, and graveyards were full, someone had to do something. This was the start of plague doctors. They would stroll the streets checking bodies and moving them to burn piles if they were dead. Many of the plague doctors died. They would wear very strange clothing to protect themselves from being infected. They would also try to find cures for the plague.
