basically you say you are running. You make flyers. You pick a vp. Then we have a drop in debate. A drop in debate is just where you answer questions ect. You don't have to be there at a specific time. This election is a bit different. If you decide to run you will get a scenario. Then you have to act as if you were president. Plus the scenario will develop over the spand of the election.
