I'm french and i can ensure you that averybody in France admit that the "french fries" come from Belgium and we just don't understand why every english speaking contries are talking about "FRENCH fries" when we call this just "fries" XD
Yeah, same in Belgium, we just call them fries! Its just because the Americans thought they were in France while eating fries (didn't realise they were in the french speaking part of Belgium)
