So I just found out about this and it made me happy so I wanted to share!

If you are refering to Alex, alex is sometimes used as a girl but can have no gender

I know officially they don't have genders but it still seemed a bit weird that they felt the need to make another character with longer hair and thinner arms. And the way they are usually represented makes it appear like classical male and female counterparts. Sometimes they can't let go of the stereotypes or maybe I just can't because it's been forced down my throat so much throughout my life... I mean, I still think it looks more reasonable if the arms aren't as thick as the legs so I'm using the Alex model for my skin. 🤷

They might have been trying to make a more feminine character,that dose not mean that Alex is female, but I really don't want to argue about this

I'm sorry if it sounded like arguing. Like I said, maybe it's just me who can't let go of the gender stereotypes because I see them so much everywhere. Minecraft is certainly better than all the things coming in two versions - one pink princess version and one blue firefighter/astronaut/policeman/knight version.
