THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF REAL VILLAINS. FIRST, THE ONES TO WHOM YOU WISH DEAD MORE THAN ANYTHING. TWO, THOSE WHOM, WHILE YOU COULD NEVER ROOT FOR THEM, SINCERELY RESPECT FOR THEIR POWER, CHARISMA, AND AESTHETIC UNIQUENESS. AND THIRD, THE ONES WHO WERE NEVER ONCE WRONG ABOUT ANYTHING. THEY'RE NOT EVIL, THEY'RE INGENIOUS. | image tagged in villains, what are memes | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Hmm, let's see, she was raised by the Kree, who loved her, supported her, fed her, and made her extremely powerful. Then one day Talos told her he wasn't a bad guy and that they were homeless, so she assumed they saw no wrong on their part because good and evil are, in her eyes, subjective. After the Space Stone enhanced her powers even further than before, she finally had the balls to betray her own kin as power went to her head, sadistically destroying Ronan's starfleet laughing maniacally with homicidal glee, even though he's literally been her mentor for years. Only for us to get yet another movie where the bad guy reveling in the slightly less antagonistic individual's pain gave them time to escape their clutches. And then of course she took slightly less twisted pleasure in brutally incapacitating her father figure, Yon-Rogg, which as he indeed cited was a low and cowardly way to do so. She went on to flaunt her newfound power across the universe until the Avengers wanted her to help, which she only did to find where Nick Fury was and acted like all the heroes were vermin and finally left because she was somehow better than all of them combined, in her eyes. Then she saw a chance to prove that by waiting to attack Thanos until the last minute so she'd look more badass, only for him to throw her little world on its head. She's cruel, genocidal, shallow, selfish, and arrogant, and 101 percent unapologetic and remorseless, just like Saruman the White. And like Biff Tannen, she has zero redeeming qualities, I repeat, zero.
Outside of universe she's a sexist cosmic-Karen stereotype and Shazam ripoff designed to sell Marvel to a female audience, so there's also that.

OK, WOW. We’re actually doing this.
*Ahem* She was, and had been, a human the entire time, but had been memory wiped by the knee so she would fight the (strangely) not evil skrulls, which makes the Kree empire the bad guys in the MCU. She crashed on earth after being kidnapped by the skrulls, which did not help how she felt about them, leaving only a handful alive, before mercilessly slaughtering all of them. She then went on to contact the Kree who told her to wait, before sending an entire fleet to straight up destroy earth. She then learned of her past, met and actually had a conversation with the skrull general, who explained that they were not the bad guys, but had still done some pretty bad things, and explained how her actual mentor, the person she worked for while still on earth, had been planning on building a hyperdrive to betray the Kree and take the skrulls far away from the involuntary war they had been caught up in. And while, yes, Carol was very sadistic about it all, she had good intentions at heart, and betrayed the people who had stolen her for her power, fought them, and met a space cat-eldritch-horror mix who ate the tesseract, scratched out Nick Fury’s eye, and save the skrull refugees from the invading Kree before escaping, doing some serious BA stunts with the Kree ships, and then had a serious Star Wars scene in a desert, before finally taking down her fake mentor and “possible love interest” after saying the seriously BA line: “I don’t have to prove anything to you” and flying off. She then took the skrulls far away, after being given a special pacer by Nick Fury, and returning after receiving a transmission from him after the avengers lost infinity war, asking where her friend was, and helping them find Thanos.
She then went around keeping peace across the known and inhabited universe, getting a haircut, and then coming back to save the day in the final battle of endgame, almost beating past-Thanos, and then leaving once again. So, I once again ask: How is she a villain?
