DO WE SEE DEMON POSSESSION TODAY? The Bible's Acts 16:16 talks about Paul kicking a demon out of a slave girl, who earned money for her owners by fortune-telling: "Now it happened of us going to the place of prayer, a certain girl, having a spirit of Python, met us, who was bringing her masters much gain by fortune-telling." Unfortunately, that same evil still happens today. It's interesting how our so-called modern society downplays demon possession as if it doesn't happen. But it does and I think a lot of demon-possessed people self-medicate, get medicated into being mute, or are put away in psych wards because the diagnosis is a psychological issue. Some aspect of it may be psychological but having visited psych wards to witness and pray for people over the past twenty-plus years, I'm telling you, there is a different spirit in those places. A lot of those people are demonically possessed, even if our secular society refuses to admit it. The demonically possessed are given drugs which are not going to help that issue. The only answer to deliver those people is Jesus Christ. He is what they need. Our modern mindset leads society to rule out demon possession like it doesn't happen even though it seems to be as rampant today as it was in New Testament times.
