Because it nulifies the achievements of the original protagonists. Rey is a surrogate character and power fantasy, whereas Luke is am everyman. Rey doesn't have any strong characterization, she's just a good person, hell her entire character conflict is dull she wants to find her place in the universe, the galaxy is huge make something of yourself. The movies tear down Luke and Han just to prop up their less interesting protagonist. Rey beats Luke in a fight after it's revealed he contemplated murdering his young nephew, it's grimdark and out of character only existing for shock value, the plot tries to explore the nature of failure but fails at that, it's okay when Holdo self sacrifices but when Finn tries to do it it's wrong? Also how did Rey kill Palpatine considering he survived being thrown down a reactor shaft and exploding following by the death star exploding into space they wanted to make it so clear that no one could've survived it, why should we believe this time it's different and he's not dead. She never made her own lightsaber or went through the Jedi rituals because the movies weren't interested in worldbulding they just wanted a cool female superhero with crazy powers who can beat everybody. I could be more detailed but that's a synopsis on why people dislike the sequel trilogy, basically they're mostly souless cashgrabs made by people who don't know or care about the franchise.
