While some candidates are promising to stop the harassment and bullying, others are promising equal attention to all users. I am addressing both subjects. Some people may ask why I am not advertising my slogan and instead writing an useless speech. That is because slogans are useless, they are spam, and don't really catch your eye. Speeches however, really touch your emotions and sometimes you can really relate.
There is really no solution to the harassment and bullying problem. But saying "I will get rid of the bullies" or "Trying to make imgflip a kinder place" doesn't solve the problem either. What can we do? Sometimes, if you ignore them, the user will stop commenting. Don't reply with more negative comments, that only lowers yourself down to their status. But, if it keeps coming with death threats, tell somebody, tell your parents, or block them and they will never appear in your sight again.
As a not-so-popular user, I understand that some users are feeling jealous that all the "popular users" are getting the attention, and to quote Frost_The_Gallade "So is the fact what i work my ass of and nobody gives a shit while all del has to do is post a single image and BOOM! instant front page!". Well that is not necessarily true. I remember when I first joined with 2 points. I posted a change my mind meme "Slugs are just homeless snails." and immediately it got to the frontpage. For those who are jealous of del, Captain_Scar, or whoever, think: When you get to that much points or followers, will you be content? Will you be satisfied then. No. You will still be jealous of those better than you. Humans are like this, always wanting to be better until they are at the top of the top. Sometimes users better than you can be motivation, keeping you going towards your goal. Don't let jealousy overcome you, don't compare yourself to other users, there will always be users better than you. Instead compare yourself to your past self.
When I think of the past, where I was just a tiny user among thousands with not even 1k points, and how far I have come to become a user with 20k points, it makes me proud even to think of my progress. That is the right way to think. Don't compare yourself to others, look at your own progress, satisfaction will come naturally and the jealousy will go away.
Some people might have noticed that I have not stated what I would do as president. Why? Because whether I become president or not is not important.(word limit)
