A pokemon being shiny means that they have perfect EV's. And plus, there useful if you want a certain pokemon on the GTS and the other person drives a hard bargain.

I use a shiny mega medicham at the battle tree and 99.9% of the time, the opposing pokemon get KO'd by Fire Punch

Whenever I reset one of my games, I just trade all the valuable pokemon to one of my other games that I would never even think about resetting.
