Two matters of equal importance to me are ending the wars/hate and making sure that everyone is treated equally.

The wars are getting extremely out of hand and something needs to be done. Same with hate, although I have been seen smaller amounts of it.

Same with the discrimination. I have seen people getting attacked for being LGBTQ+ on imgflip and dealing with that is something that is high on my list.

So here's where I stand on the issue of wars/hate. I would love it if they ended. 95% of the complaints I get is users getting into a fight. The problem is there isn't really any way of truly stopping hate short of banning everyone from Imgflip, there's just too much bad blood between all the different users. We can try and foster connections with one another, but the truth is plenty of users just aren't going to forgive each other due to their beefs. Wars however I can do something about if someone is breaking TOS since you now have to wait 24 hours to comment sitewide if a Global or Community Mod deletes your comment. The animosity between those users will still be there of course, but it does give an opportunity to try and let cooler heads prevail.

As for attacks on LGBTs, feel free to link them up to me and I'll determine what the appropriate action to take will be. It's not a guarantee I'll take it down though as it is a political issue and therefore discussion about it has to take place in order to resolve the differences in opinion.

Not all of it does. The ones who will say stuff like kill or assault LGBTs are easy bans as they violate TOS. Once we start getting into the "it's a mental illness" territory, it gets a lot more murky as it still isn't completely known why some people are gay or trans and others are straight, so I generally leave those posts up and other mods may choose to take them down. I don't personally believe it's a mental illness, but as the science still isn't completely sure on the issue, it remains just my opinion and not a fact. That's what makes policing those kinds of posts difficult as there is nuance to both sides of the issue.

That's the thing about politics nowadays, everything has to be a political issue. Climate change for example is something that I think most people agree is happening and is an issue, including myself, but there are still lots of people who don't see it that way and since climate change became an issue in government, it went political. Same with LGBT stuff, since it was in the political arena, it became political.
