I think independent has to do with not adhering to any party, so that would make me an independent. You can still be a leftist or a rightist but still be an independent.

A rightist, is simply someone who is ideologically right wing while a leftist, is simply someone who is ideologically left wing.

What do you mean by "actually answering the question?" What I said had no political implications, it's literally just a definition and you're getting so riled over it. It's like getting triggered over the definition of a conservative or the definition of a liberal.

Here are a bunch of the definitions of rightist:

Collins English Dictionary: If someone is described as a rightist, they are politically conservative and traditional. Rightists support the ideals of capitalism.

Notice how all of these definitions unanimously say that "rightist" means someone who subscribes to the ideology of the right or of conservatives? I really don't know how this is objectionable in any way. I'm simply stating a definition, and you're making such a melodramatic fuss over it. Jesus, get over it.
