Powerful meme for me. I drove Scouts for a mineral research outfit in the Sonora Desert, summer job, in 1965. We went everywhere, and over everything in them, and I learned how to rock a vehicle to un-stuck it from ruts and holes. Now, 60 years later, I drive a Bronco Badlands Sasquatch over the ancient Class 6 roads in New Hampshire, Class IV roads and trails in Vermont, and true overlanding in Utah.
