Theres nothing wrong with being gay. If God has the power and mercy to forgive then so should you.

But they shouldn't keep on living that lifestyle. Just because they're forgiven doesn't mean that they get to do whatever they want (Romans 6:1-4).

And before you call me a hypocrite, that rule applies to all humans (including me), whether they're gay, straight, asexual, white, black, asian, or whatever category you can think of.

You can't atone for yourself. Only Christ can. And wouldn't it be better if they didn't commit that sin in the first place? But, those points aside, yes, it is better to be repentant and ask God for forgiveness than to just sit there and do nothing.

I know how in the bible being gay is regarded as straying from the right path God set for you, but what if you just cant help it? Would it be better to just be single for the rest of your life? Or do you force yourself to go with someone of the opposite sex? Or are you sinning just by existing and having "Oh I like a person of my same sex..."

Well, all humans have temptations to do something that is out of accordance with God's law. And it's not like you, "can't help it (1 Corinthians 10:13)." As to how they might rectify the situation, that's between them and God. And no, it's the act itself of homosexual activities that are sinful. If they resist the temptation, they are still right before God.

Gee whiz, this kid... I'm afraid I can't really pinpoint any specific line between the two, but it should be right around the area where they have feelings for each other, and the are both aware that they have feelings for each other.

So, if by that definition is when it starts to be a sin, does that mean that if you were gay, and you had a roomate/housemate who was also gay, but you live your whole life with them, sleep in close range sleeping quarters, spend lots of time together, and care for each other, have a deep, great liking for each other it wouldnt be a sin?

If they were both Christians, valued God's word over their own feelings, resisted the urge, kept their minds off it, and preferably had some sort of accountability group, they should be fine. And they would probably try to get different roommates, just to remove that extra temptation.

But what if they just enjoyed each others company a lot, and they both resisted the urge, but within each other's company?

There should be no problem there, as long as they also rely on God for strength (as everyone should at all times anyways).
