I hate the new textures and I will never use them.

It really depends for me. Some textures are needless change just for change (TNT, Note blocks, Hay Bales, Pigmen to Piglins), some are that but actively worse than the original textures (All ore blocks, wheat). But a lot of textures are also very much improved. (Bricks, Ice, Cactus, GLASS)

Really, you like the new bricks? I mean, a lot of people apparently do.. but the old brick texture worked with so many other blocks... hardened clay (yes, I still call it hardened clay - sue me), red stained hardened clay, jungle wood, granite, polished granite,...

I guess, I just don't think block variation works as well as it used to. Same with cobblestone, andesite, cracked stone bricks, stone,... yes, they're all still gray but they used to be from the same color palette... now they are so different that you can always tell it's different blocks. Texture variation is kinda dead. I mean, long time players still just do it out of habit, but I don't think the new textures lend themselves to experimenting like that if you're new to the game. In my opinion it leads to less varied build styles and more monotony...

I like them both! You can either have nostalgia or you can have something new.

I just think the new textures would be good individually - if you like the cartoon style - but they just don't go together as well... They are so... explicit. You know? The different textures just don't mix. The border between different blocks is always very obvious. Mixing blocks for variation now only looks ok from a distance. The old textures were vague enough that they mixed a lot better.

Well, you're right, you can't mark comments NSFW but I at least try to only post those comments on posts that were NSFW already. On SFW posts I tend to even censor my expressions because children might be reading it - like this post.

I like the new mossy cobblestone, diamond block, and glowstone, but other than that I definitely prefer the rest of the old textures.

The old mossy cobble is just way to green so that's understandable, the ore blocks in general are ok but they aren't really building blocks anyway so I would've been fine with that, and glowstone has always been one of the ugliest blocks in the game... I don't think it has improved much but I'm ok with having light sources that force you to think creatively about how to hide them.
