Everyone I know from NM to Georgia either refuses to wear a mask, or complains that most aren't. I'm guessing you are elsewhere.

i wear one because job, store regulations and local laws. AZ just adopted it because increase cases. i have kida, i dont need to lose money and i need to shop for them.

It was literally right after the Cheney post that Pence and several stubborn governors finally got on board with the masks. Meanwhile, only like 7 deaths in Hong Kong because everybody wore them early. They learned their lesson in the 1960's.

The average person probably not, I would agree, but if the governors quit pretending there isn't a problem, maybe average people will finally cooperate

a lot of avg people not just gvt. are in the category of risk and reward. we practice it everyday. if i was scared of all the risk i wouldnt drive my car or live in a heavily populated city. people want to take risk and not wear mask that should be fine. making it mandatory is a slippery slope to fascism. people would laugh at that but people also give their freedoms for a sense of security. my years in medicine thought me that this virus is as much of a problem as a lot of other things.

A proper libertarian accepts the consequences of their actions in exchange for their freedom. The risk of not wearing a mask is not born by that person, but everyone they breathe near. If people recognized that, there would not even be any talk of a mandate.

So people should stop eating, period. or can I go back home and not get any food? You can smoke outside, and you can breathe outside without a mask. You can smoke at home, and you can breathe at home without a mask. I could generally care less about bars, but the grocery store is a critical location, hence not being shut down. You have to wear a shirt and shoes in the store, but everyone gets along with that without a constitutional crisis.

I never pushed a government mandate I suggested leaders should be promoting masks, rather than pretending it's a choice that only affects yourself, like Trump, Pence, and a number of governors have done for some time. Name-calling aside, we didn't so far apart, if we agree a store can enforce a mandate. A lot of people don't even accept that!
