So basically the boy's name is Rudy and he was Liesl(the girl's best friend) The story is set during WWII and they were both in Hitler Youth together and spent a lot of time together, and he always asked her for a kiss and she always refused and stuff. Then, their street was bombed and she was asleep in the basement because she was writing so she was safe and she was the only one who survived and she watched them pull out all of the bodies and then she saw Rudy and she ran over to him and was shaking him and telling him to wake up but he was dead and so then she finally kissed his rubble and ash-dusted lip and OH MY WORD I CRY EVERY SINGLE TIME I READ IT!!!
But yes. I love the book very dearly, lol
