i found out about it b/c my youth group sang the opening song at our talent show in 2017. they had ppl coming in from behind the audience and ppl opening doors & the performance was awesome. tbh, i enjoyed that more than when they sing that song in the movie (but the movie's still awesome)

Yea my mom was the same way

my mom said that most musicals are awkward b/c ppl r always trying to fit lots of words in one line, & that's why many ppl don't like musicals. but hamilton, b/c it does hiphop & rap, actually doesn't have this problem.

btw she tends to like musicals and i do & most of my friends (pretty much all of them) do too.

My parents didnt really like musicals becuase they were 'corny' but then she saw hamilton, and now the soundtrack hasn't stopped playing for days lol

lol yeah my mom saw it on the 3rd to make sure it was ok & then let us see it on the 4th b/c she said it was epic. we were thinking about getting it or getting the album b/c we don't want 2 stop seeing it as soon as it comes off disney+. plus i've only watched the whole thing 1ce & my memory works best when seeing things twice b/c when i first see something, i'm trying to analyze things & figure out what's happening & the second time i'm all relaxed and just enjoying the music so it sticks in my head much longer. i've seen certain scenes over & over tho

I watched it on the 3rd with my family, then learned how to build firecrackers on the 4th. I think that my whole family now secretly has the soundtrack downloaded

in our neighborhood a lot of ppl blast fireworks (even a whole bunch do it on the new year) so we had something close to an actual show in our neighborhood & then we watched a real show as well. both were fun
we had ppl a few houses down blowing fireworks so we had it pretty loud 4 a while
the worst part of the 4th is going to bed...

Yeah, my dad taught me to build them for protection, but it comes in handy on the 4th of july. Me and my brother ran down our alleyway with sparklers, so it wasn't hard falling asleep for us lol

i've never learned 2 use fireworks but i would 1 day.
i was once nearly hurt b/c of some drunk ppl trying to blast fireworks while we were walking home. they told the ppl 2 clear the streets /c ppl were coming, but 1 teen wanted to get 1 last one in so he blasted it while we were close 2 it. fortunately i wasn't hurt but i could've been if i was just a tad bit closer.

I had a friend who got his eye blasted out by a firework. There was this thing last 4th of July where fireworks were shot into the crowd, that was bad

Yeah, but he's fine now. He made it so his glass eye is a different color then his actual one, so he always looks kinda crazy

the guy that played aaron burr called hamilton fans hamilfans. he actually wasn't going to be in it & just happened to see them practicing for it and demanded to be in it b/c he said he'd instantly became a hamilfan. (in other words, he was "not throwing away his shot.") i saw that in a video all the actors in it made recently but i wouldn't recommend it b/c they talked about some things they shouldn't have.

btw some friends of mine introduced me to a musical called His Story that came out last yr. it's about Jesus' life. i haven't seen the full thing yet, but i like all the songs i've heard from it so far. they say its hiphop reminds ppl of hamilton & its emotional music reminds ppl of alan menken. & it was directed by an 18-yr old
