No one is defending Confederates. They are defending the history of this country. Good and Bad.
You should be happy that there is history about this subject still in evidence. Imagine if we, as a nation, had eradicated all that history...you wouldn't have anything to bitch about and nothing to blame YOUR shortcomings and FAILURES on.
