Do you want to learn the basics? Or something specific?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I guess the basics?
1 up, 4y
Ok then. First of all, you need to think of your genre. It's what your comic is mainly about. Some examples are Comedy, Dark, Political, etc.

How the heck do I make a comic without chopping my hand off
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
You mean tiredness?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Yes

Using digital art
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Oh. Well, first of all, give yourself a schedule that you can stick to. For me, I do a comic every 2 days.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Second is don’t chop your hand off
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
NO. Second is that you need to set how many panels you'll be drawing in your daily comic strip. The usual is 3-4. The entire range is from 2-9. Depends on how much space you need to perform the comic.

Ok then...

I definitely need this.

Ok. And finally, the name. A good name should be the embodiment of entire the comic strip. From it's genre to it's characters.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I’ll call it “Geometry Mishap” then.
0 ups, 4y
That's a good name. Although considering your genre, i'd rate it 7/10.

Hmm... how do I make an ACTUAL comic that doesn’t look like a window.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Oh, I give advice on comic STRIPS. If you're talking about action comics, you may need to talk to another person.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Hmm.. okay then.

How do I make a good comic strip though?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well first of all, you need to think of your genre. It's what your comic is mainly about. Some examples are Comedy, Dark, Political, etc.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I guess I’ll go with dark humor.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Ok then. Just a warning that this may affect your target audience. Next, you need to think of your characters.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I’m not sure yet, there’s a chance I’ll use something random.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
A good comic strip needs some iconic characters. With the average amount of 5-10 characters with the limit being 12.
0 ups, 4y
I guess I’ll use stickfigures or shapes because that’s the easiest thing I can draw for a comic.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
They require some personality, & some stand-alone traits.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Hmm okay.. so I have:

A green triangle with anger issues.

A blue square who’s timid and chill.

A turquoise trapezoid who’s childish.

A red rhombus who’s a jerk.

A yellow hexagon that acts nice at first, but can turn purple and acts like a dog and can become violent.

A orange pentagon who’s a pirate.

And a grey-bluish octagon who’s a sadist (don’t ask about that.)
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Ok. Next, you'll need to think the number of panels. With 3-4 being the average amount & the max being 2-9.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I’ll go with either 6 or 5.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Ok. Next, your posting schedule. You need to set a date when you'll post the comic. For me, I do it every 2 days. With the minimum being everyday & the maximum being every month.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I can post when I feel like it?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
That may GREATLY affect your audience, considering your motivation level.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I guess the minimum being 1 day or a week if that is okay?

And maybe the max can be for about a month or a year.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
When I said the minimum & maximum, I mean those are the boundaries for comic schedules. If you go any further, there is a 95% chance that your comic with die & rot in cobwebs.
0 ups, 4y
Hmm.. okay.. I guess I’ll think about that.

Ok. Next, you'll need to work out on the number of panels. You could range from 3-4, since that is the average. The max is 2-9 panels. You'll need to chose wisely, for that greatly affects your time & energy.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
i’d go with 3 panels
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
You need to be sure that you'll stick to that style. After that, you'll need to think of a name. A good name summarizes the entire comic strip. From it's genre, to it's characters.

shape shennanigans
0 ups, 4y,

And finally, the daily posting. When & how much are you going to post the comic? The average is every week. The shortest being every day & the longest being every month.
0 ups, 4y,

whenever i feel like it?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
That may affect your target audience.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I can’t remember well
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I'm just saying. With a schedule like that, comic strips are mostly forgotten.
0 ups, 4y
I really have trouble getting comedic ideas
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well ok then. What do you have in mind?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
i want to know how to get ideas for funny comics
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well, to start off, you'll need to think of your genre. Since you said funny comics, you picked Comedy. Next, you have to pick your characters.
0 ups, 4y,

Oh s***. Good thing that the next thing i'm gonna teach you is character amount. The amount of characters is important. The regular range is 5-12. If you can manage, you can handle a ridiculous amount of characters if you know the art of cycling.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
it’s actually only 10 characters but with many forms
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well that's gonna make it harder. I suggest you cut it down to 10.
0 ups, 4y
yeah, i guess i’ll only use the 10 original forms.
0 ups, 4y
Well i've done all I can do. Thanks for attending this class.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
I can help you with that. What grade are you in? 8? 12? Collage?
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
i’m going into high school so 9

but i’m probably not gonna get out of high school alive
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
So you've been grade 8? That's perfect! Think about stupid things that have happened during the school year, then turn them into comics! And you can get some inspiration from other comics. Like Garfield or Peanuts for example.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well....I’ve been almost driven to suicide...i’ve been bullied...Oh! I actually got bitch-slapped by the bus I was in while going home once!
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well that can make for a good comic.
0 ups, 4y,

I need better ideas
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well as I said, you can look towards similar peers for ideas. Calvin & Hobbes or TheOdd1sOut are some good choices.
0 ups, 4y,

i’d do better at remaking comics with my ocs
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
