Thank you for a thoughtful, decent mature reply. Some people (see next comment) are incapable of having a rational discussion and rely on offensive memes and insults to make their point because they never actually address the issue at hand.
We may disagree, but at least you have manners. Refreshing.
Obviously the issue is a complex one with many sides, but the problem here is conflating peaceful protesters with the looters. They are not just one group. A small segment of the riots were looters, but since they don't wear team colors or carry AntiFa Membership Cards (they left them on the buses), who is to tell if they were right-wing, left-wing or merely opportunists?
I agree, those that are violent, loot and destroy should be arrested and charged. Humanely and within the boundaries of the law. That cannot be allowed.
Are you saying that every peaceful protest is a mob looting situation? There is plenty of video of cops indiscriminately using excessive force against people just being there. Hell, trump himself had a group violently dealt with that were making no trouble just to take a walk to church for a meaningless photo op with a Bible as a prop.
So the bottom line would be, was trump only referring to the troublemakers here or the lawful protesters? He makes no distinction whatsoever. THAT is the problem. He is an insane fragile authoritarian dictator who crushes any and all opposition, no matter how trivial. The smallest criticism sends him into Twitter rants. He fires anyone who disagrees with him. He wants the free press abolished. He will not tolerate any disloyalty, opposition or protest.
Does that sound like the country you want to live in? Does that sound like America?
