I thought it was supposed to be Jadis...have I been reading it wrong all these years?(flashbacks to when I was mispronouncing franchise)

I reread The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and it reads Jadis.

I've heard that it's spelled Jardis but pronounced Jadis... but I still pronounce it as it's spelled.
