1st of all, how dare you?? Second of all, as much as I hate the Hobbit movies, I just want to say that it does a good job of including things that were either mentioned in the Council of Elrond or in the LotR appendices, just wanted to get that out there. So, if Tauriel was canonical it would add more depth of character to the dwarrows and more unnecessary complexity of the plot of ht ebook. As for history, there would be major changes in Mirkwood but not much outside of that. Sure, there might be a few more and different songs and legends about her, but Elves make songs about everything, so. Legolas would have more bitterness towards dwarrows then usual, but since she is simply a captain her role would actually be much like Glorfindel's and have a similar history. Fourth of all, if Kili had survived I would kill myself. Not actually, but seriously, it would be like a more grotesque and annoying Beren and Luthien and he would still have a heaviness about him since he lost his brother and uncle. They would probably;y still be around and change the course of the war of the Ring together, they'd be a somewhat useful asset during various battles. Wait, would they possibly be part of the fellowship?? This Hurst my head so I won't even address the other possibilities good day to you

Sorry to torture you. It's a difficult question, I know. And good day to you, too.

It's fine, I suppose. Just less than ideal.
