plz explain

Exactly naturally generated chests cannot spawn as double chests that's why I thought it was wierd

I got a phenomenon unlike this
a double chest formed, but its hitbox was off. I stood on thin air to the side of the chest, but inside one half of the thing.

i found the two chests next to each other but seriously though

Make a double chest, place a chest next to it, and destroy the half of the double chest away from the single chest. There you have it
