Yes!!! I love it so much. They didn't do their relationship justice in the movie they made of his life, I got so mad. I especially love how he then based Treebeard off of C.S. Lewis.

Well, since their relationship was clearly being guided and directed by God, you can't really do a relationship like that justice in a secular movie. And I also found it very amusing to learn that he had based Treebeard off of Lewis, too! I also found it funny and yet unsurprising that he based the hobbits (as a race) off of himself. Or rather, he said that he IS (or was, I guess) a Hobbit, in everything but height.

Right? I love that quote. And yeah, you are absolutely correct. A secular movie is just going to play down his relationship with God and how much that affected his writing and his relationship with Edith.
