If the middle-class weren't taxed to death from fed, state, & local government to pay for those who don't work, perhaps the middle-class would have a chance.
Most "big business"(&who knows what you mean by that) pays what the person is worth...the job market dictates that.
If you mean McDonald's and Burger King or Walmart, well the above applies to it, too.
