Not that much of a gamer, but that Yoshi is from SMW. If you go into a "star path," it can lead you to Yoshis of four colors total, Green (standard), Red, Blue, and Yellow. Each one has certain powers based on their own colors or the color Koopa shells they hold in their mouths.
Green Yoshi: what you find in pretty much all the worlds, save the star path. Has no specific powers and is pretty much affected by Koopa shells.
Red Koopas: Powers vary by Koopa shells, but each shell released turns to fire.
Blue Yoshi: Flies each time it holds a Koopa shell. Spits out shells normally (except for Red, which turns to fire)
Yellow Yoshi: Can be affected by shell's color, but gives a heavy stomp upon landing on the ground, upsetting nearby enemies. Spits out shells normally (except for Red, which turns to fire)
Green Koopa Shell: zippo powers. Makes a good trajectory (unless you're a Red Yoshi) when spat out.
Red Koopa Shell: does nothing when swallowed, but spits out as fire, regardless of the Yoshi's color.
Blue Koopa Shell: Makes any Yoshi fly. Makes a good trajectory (unless you're a Red Yoshi) when spat out.
Yellow Koopa Shell: makes any Yoshi stomp upon landing, upsetting nearby enemies. Makes a good trajectory (unless you're a Red Yoshi) when spat out.
