one of Jesus' biggest issues with the Jewish community
was their focus of being a part of, and supporting the church.
He spread the word throughout the world because he felt it important to live as though the whole world was somewhere you could worship, not a manmade institution.
(personally I'm agnostic, but it's good to know why people think the way they do)
