The weekly leaderboard is a simple who got the most points for their memes in a one week period. I don't know what starts the week, or if it's one day drops off as the next starts, but it's just the top point getters, not to be confused with the All Time Leaderboard. That count total points a user has from day one to present.

How are people getting 40k points weekly?

I've got almost 60k before in a week and that was before there were 10k streams to post to. There have been people in the past with over 100k points routinely on the leaderboard. Raydog and Dash often did it.

There's people on it with like 200k

Use to be three memes per day with only one stream. Harder then to get to the front page, but get there with two memes and easily make points to get on the leaderboard.

Now with God know how many streams, some with unlimited submissions, making the leaderboard should be easier and harder at the same time. I miss the old days myself.

last week I got 60k because I had 2 or 3 memes on the first/second page of fun...

Whoever's gotten the most points in the past 7 days, I think every hour it changes so exactly one week after an hour, it stops counting those points and counts the current one. I mostly get there with a lot of comments. In 2016, I've gotten there a few times with just comments alone and not making a single meme in that week and same around 40,000 points.
