Ben Franklin, first and foremost, was one of the greatest coozhounds the world has ever seen. After that, he was one of the great scientific minds of his time and an architect of this country. Knowing that, to mention him in the same breath as a shitstain like Rush f**king Limbaugh does a disservice to us all.

I don’t know Ben Franklin personally, but if I was a betting man (like Ben), he’d be on the side of science and reason. I’d also bet he’d be on the side of scientists when they say just stay home.

First off, watch the potty mouth, even implied. Keep that up you get blocked. There is no place for immaturity.

Science and data show the lockdowns are a failure and should never have happened. So had Ben sided with science and common sense, then he’d be advising not to stay at home except for those at higher risk.

Third, you knee jerk ninny, the quote is from Rush, not the wise Mr. Limbaugh. A band. From Canada. But I’m sure Ben would have been honored to be associated with a fellow Patriot like Rush Limbaugh. You at least know who he is, but you know nothing he stands for else you’d not have maligned him as you did.

Fair enough, potty mouthing will be curbed. But if the potty mouthing needs to be curbed, should it not follow that name-calling follows (knee-jerk ninny)? I mean, if you wish to maintain the facade of civility, half-rear-ending it (see what I did there?) shouldn’t really be an option.

I’ve always respected Rush (the band) but they were never really my cup of tea. They always struck me as being a little too into their own excellent musicianship...and it was excellent. Pink Floyd is as ‘prog-rock’ as I get, even if Roger Waters is bat-guano (oops, I did it again) crazy.

I’m curious to see what science and data you’ve seen. If you could provide source material, it would be most appreciated. Right off the bat, from my perspective, Dr. Anthony Fauci said on April 3rd that he didn’t understand why lockdowns weren’t happening, and, subsequently, has stated as recently as a week ago, testing needed to double before restrictions were raised.

As far as Rush Limbaugh goes, well, I guess I won’t be able to rebut your position without a plethora of obscenities...but that says about as much as I feel about him, doesn’t it?

Compare the countries with lockdown vs. without. Compare the states with and without. No statistical difference... Likewise testing in NY and CA have shown that many more have had it and gotten over it before and during the lockdown. So the spread still happened (thank goodness) and our God-given immune systems worked as designed.

Fauci also said it was going to be no worse than a flu season early on. Turns out he was correct then.

The death rate is like 0.3%... not widespread like they fearmongered. Lockdowns should be lifted immediately, without these nonsense "testing" criteria. It's worked like a normal flu season and the precedence that's been set is a dangerous one I hope we never repeat.

Where are you getting 0.3% death rate? The global average is 7.8%. Or are you skewing the numbers to include the entire worlds’ population?

The terrifying aspect of this disease is you don’t know if you have it and if you don’t know if you have it, you can potentially spread it to hundreds, if not more, without the safeguards in place. Watch what happens then. You’re seeing it happen, real-time, in Brazil. Tell me how that’s working out for them. Kentucky experienced a spike right after a week of protests...probably not a coincidence. And COVID cases are still on the rise throughout the country. Not a single state has shown a decrease, just slowing.

Social distancing, lockdowns, it’s all worked. Maybe you’re of the mind to let it “wash over the country” and see what happens, but I have elderly parents and a wife with a compromised immune system. Perhaps you’re willing to sacrifice them, but I’m not, nor would I expect you to sacrifice yours.
