Because a weakened American democracy is less of a threat to Putin's authoritarianism. Democracy must be shown to be unworkable and unsustainable.

I'm saying that it would be in Putin's interest to weaken democracies anywhere, including Russia. Xi would have a similar interest.

I don't agree that Putin, Xi or trump are conservative. I think they're radical reactionaries. And I don't agree that their followers are rational.

I am a follower of trump but I know when he is wrong. And I can tell you that i an not the only one.

There are lots of reasons they helped him. Backing off on Crimea, Trump Tower Moscow, Deutchebank money laundering, dismantling NATO, weakening democracies, antifeminism... Putin himself said there were many reasons they favored trump.
