Steve Harvey Meme | NOT NECESSARILY | image tagged in memes, steve harvey | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Users flagging their own image (in streams they don't moderate) could use the flag function to send a message to the stream Moderators, for example "I made a mistake on the title and I want the title to say X".

No guarantee the Moderator reading your flag will take the requested action, but you flagging your own image could be used that way.

During my time as a Moderator, I have seen a few flags that contained requests from the image owner about their Submission.

Thanks for clearing that up Andrew. It's just because (like most people) I only use the flag button if someone were to violate TOS or something. But I really see no point for it to exsist in comments. I mean, I see the image thing but comments? Not so much.

Comments can be against the Terms of Use, that's when users should use the comment flag. There's no option to include a message to the Moderators with a flag that way though.

If a user wanted a Community Moderator to take a look at a specific comment, users can send us a link.

If a user wanted to send a message to Imgflip about comments outside the Terms of Use (example pornographic content or a website spammer) use the feedback form on the image page or imgflip.com/feedback

Another way to contact Imgflip about comments outside the Terms of Use is to send an email to [email protected] be sure to include specific info about where the comments are and how the comments are over the Terms of Use.

Oh, sorry I meant why do we have the option to flag our own comments? Sorry if I wasn't very clear on that.

Ahh, now I understand. You see no reason for the comment flag to exist on a user's own comments.

Yes, users are able to flag their own comments, you are able to flag your own comments, I am able to flag my own comments.

Not many users flag their own comments, it does happen though :)
