They have looked at 3000 plus samples not 103 which is where i think your source cites 12 Chinese researchers who you can not be accepted as trustworthy anymore. See how many there are ( 8 strains i think and they dont appear to be much more virulent than each other).
Whoever it is telling that information you rely on about virility may not trustworthy for a few reasons but clearly are using a very small sample which normally would not be sufficient to produce scientifically meanful data. It is way to small a sample and at least 10 times their sample is required to offer robust data. Otherwise yeah why not do the rest to stop transmission.
