I have learned from my own experiences that no matter how much you try, you're not going to 100% change other people. All you can control is yourself. Be the change you want to see. I'm with you there, though :)

Positive change on imgflip can start with you kids learning to upvote memes and comments! It's not hard really. One little click on that up arrow is all it takes. :)

And plenty of adults could use a reminder too. Courtesy can go a long way, after all! :)

Perhaps you should post this in politics stream, lol. Honestly this is the least toxic stream I can think of. For the most part the people who post and comment here are pretty civil and get along well. It's a great place to discuss various even difficult topics. What you pose is a noble idea, I'm not sure increasing the number of users here should be the goal so much as keeping the current users who help make this a community here and not attracting the trolls and dissenters. Basically be the change you want to see.

Depends on what you mean by toxicity. If you’re referring to people like repost whiners, reposters, and politics, it’s never gonna happen. Politics has always been divisive, even more so over the past decade, and that’s not gonna change anytime soon. As for reposts and repost whiners, they are inevitable. You can’t stop them from happening and there really isn’t any point in trying.

That’s not what I mean, but it be great to stop those as well, but that’s never gonna happen. I mean people who constantly harass someone based on what memes they make. I mean getting rid of people who regularly call others stuff like “mother f**ker” or “asshole” because of the memes that person makes but I won’t fully eliminate that sort of thing either, it’s impossible. My goal is to get rid of a lot of this type of toxicity and get people to rejoin if possible

The only way I could see that happening was if we raised the age limit to 18+. The vast majority of comments like that I see are from the kids or directed at the kids when the kids start drama. Even then, they can just lie about their age and join anyway. Getting rid of toxicity is a good goal to strive for, but it’s not really attainable. We can delete the stuff that violates TOS, but it will never be fully stomped out.

Preventing being affect by toxicity is just common sense at this point, there are literally lessons on this for first graders, my local public middle school has kids do this dumb 5 hour class where they watch videos of people saying “if you see bullying, report it.” I’m trying to see if I can reduce the number of people who are bullying others, so yes we could just block them but I think the situation will just get worse, they create new accounts and some even go as far as to hack a persons main account.
