Time to rebut this argument...
We ask you for upvotes because it's simple etiquette here, to show respect and appreciation, that you are upvoting each other. Just think about it, how would you feel if we took the time to upvote you, and you wouldn't do it back, do such a simple act?
Heck, don't even try to call me a selfish dick or something. Did you know that this bit of etiquette is well-known within the more veteran users of Imgflip? Even respectable and well-known people like Kate remind the younger users to do this.
Though, I do disagree with a few methods, such as Beckett, who stops a conversation midway if the other person doesn't upvote. In my view, we should instead remind them of what to do and what are considered manners here.
We're just reminding all of you to do it, after all, you're all just newbies. Like I was.
