The responsibility of pandemic and epidemic preparedness belongs more to the health care industry than any given administration. Beyond that, any given population should depend on the sensibility of it's people, shame to those that depend on their government.

Yup...and shame to all the mostly liberal college kids that flooded the beaches of Florida without a care in the world for all the people older than them they would come into contact with after they went back home to their states/cities to spread the virus.

And I reiterate, sensibility.

And yet the Governor could have just closed the beaches. Utterly predictable and entirely preventable, if those in power actually use for something other than protecting profits. Individual responsibility is a poor horse to bet on, especially when education is shit and everyone is told to live for themselves.

It's ok. I anticipated this. Aren't many of my kind posting in this stream. Carry on. I appreciate the responses, but don't otherwise care much about the opinions. The memes already warned me most would be half-baked, at best.

So, the markets failed, then? Lol, which is it: do markets cure all, or does the government have a place to exercise some authority in coordinating crisis response and prevention?
